Mercer County has one of the highest median property taxes in the nation and is ranked 17th of 3,143 counties in order of median property taxes. Lisa Marie Richford will bring a new approach of working together with county and municipal governments to control spending, prevent tax increases and not force costs onto municipal governments.
Infrastructure
Under single-party rule our county’s finances have been mismanaged leading to an infrastructure that needs help. Mercer County residents deserve good roads and access to quality transportation and Lisa Marie Richford’s new approach of working together with county and municipal governments will lead to improved roads and better access to transportation for those who need it.
Residents also deserve safe drinking water. Unfortunately, over 200,000 Mercer County residents are occasionally told to boil their water before drinking, even worse, as recently as June 2023 Trenton Water Works announced they opened fire hydrants in some neighborhoods and left them flowing to optimize chlorine disinfection to minimize the conditions contributing to the growth of Legionella. We should not have to worry about the possibility of Legionnaire’s Disease in our water. Lisa Marie Richford’s new approach of working together will lead to an innovative solution and provide our neighbors with safe drinking water.
